iNOTD: Sally Hansen Skinny Jeans nail stickers

I was soooooooo looking forward to this one. But no, I had to apply it after the end of a bad day where I was running on 2 hours of sleep (insomnia) and was trembling very badly (coffee, stress)... and after I had just cleaned up a dinner that involved duck l'orange (bought, not cooked).

So... yeah, leftover duck grease on nails (I did wash my hands but not enough!) + shaking + impaired judgment = this disaster.

Sally Hansen Skinny Jeans

This is on Day 2. :( My thumb is particularly awful and my right hand (the camera hand) is missing two nails entirely. These usually do better than this on me. Too disappointed to do a real photo so an iPhone pic has to do, I guess.

Ulta For Bitten

Ulta, we need to talk. I think I might be falling in love with you.

I know, I know; you're young, you don't want to get involved, you need your space. I respect that. I think you need to know, though - my feelings are strong.

For Bitten from Ulta's Glam Goth collection is one of the many reasons why I think I can't continue to live apart so much.

I mean LOOK AT YOU. You're a dark, vampy polish with lovely shimmer that changes from burgundy to gold.

You're seriously an amazing polish; two coats and I couldn't look away.

Don't ignore your feelings, Ulta.

Happy day, all!

Branching out to familiar territory - AA Mouse

One of my (polish-related) New Year's resolutions was to try to branch out in terms of the brands I use. However, I wanted to be really conscious about which polishes I let into my life, so I researched heavily (of course I did) and the winner was American Apparel. I've heard so many great things about these polishes - high quality, smooth application, and their range is made up of beautiful looking cremes. So on to my first American Apparel polish! Of course it had to be the taupe - Mouse. If I'm going to branch out in terms of brands, I'm going to go with a colour I know I'll love. Here is a truly heinous picture:

I was running out the door to catch the bus when I took this and didn't get the opportunity to re-take it. Suffice to say that the colour is a dream - a perfect taupe that isn't too dark or too light. Application was lovely. I didn't get a chance to fully test the wear because I had another polish I was antsy to try, but I will let you know! Polishes don't pass the k2k test unless they wear well. If they don't, they get booted from the collection! (*cough* Chanel *cough*)

What do you think about American Apparel polishes? How is the wear on you?

Zoya Malia & OPI DS Diamond

Spring is coming right? Soon?

This is one of my very favorite spring-y colors (it's also in my Top 20 colors generally).

(2 coats)

A soft, pink-leaning purple. Perfection.

Another spring fav and Top 20 polish is OPI's DS Diamond

(2 coats)

I wore this for my graduation a couple years ago (omg so long ago).

Big fan of this one. The holo is super subtle. In fact the only time I've seen it come alive, including out in the sun, was in this random Korean bbq place. *shrugs*

Icing Passion

I'm a sucker for three things: mini bottles, layering, and a good deal. This was all three.

This little mini bottle of Icing Passion was something that I stumbled upon in a package of five polishes that are all different tints of frosty whites and was in the clearance bin at my local Icing store. What can I say, it looks shocking like, oh, I don't know, six polishes in my collection. Not that it's not nice, because it is - it gives a nice little frosty finish to any dark polish (shown here is Ulta's Little Black Dress, I believe) and gives a nice little kick on the second day of your manicure if you are like me and are too lazy to change your polish but need a little something different. The bad part is that it's nothing special.

So what does this mean? Yours truly needs to stop falling for polish because it's cheap. *sigh*

Happy day, all!
