Am I Crazy...

Or are these different??

(You can click to see a larger size. Though it's kind of blurry even on macro and without the glare of the sun. Any suggestions? What am I doing wrong here?)

Is the smaller one more glittery?? Is the glitter slightly larger? Am I totally nutso??

It could be my over active MUA eyeball imagining something. I haven't tried the big bottle on my nails yet.

Oh yeah, and NB is awesome - some chick posted that she found a bunch of these in a very random store in Ottawa and I sent my mom out to pick 2 up for me and she mailed them to me. (My mom is also awesome.)

Duri Fashion Police and Drama Queen

Some swatches from the Duri Spring/Summer 2010 collection. I bought a ton more but haven't had the time to finish swatching them. Both of these are fairly sheer at three coats.

Duri Fashion Police

Okay, I can forgive the sheerness of this polish. For some reason, I really like this blue foil despite its sheerness. It kind of just burns in sunlight.

Duri Drama Queen

Okay... it's a yellowy-chartreusey shimmer that's pretty sheer. Which is pretty rare in my collection but I think the reason for that is because it's kind of fug and makes me look lobstery.

A Spring/Summer Fav: OPI Puerto Vallarta Violeta

What does everyone think of the new layout???? I am lovin' it! Thanks again to the amazing mKat, and our reader Heidi for the beautiful banner pic that inspired it all...

I tried to make my Top 20 list and it was way harder than I thought it would be. All I can tell you right now is that this polish would be on it. OPI Puerto Vallarta Violeta is one of my favourite colours of all time for spring/summer and I have already worn it a bunch already this season!

In the bottle it looks like a kind of murky lilac, but on the nail is a bright, yet not bold, pinky lilac colour. It has a tinch of grey in it that keeps it from being a candy pastel and makes it a very neutral colour in my spring/summer wardrobe.

OPI Puerto Vallarta Violeta:

See the hidden shimmer? It's a lot like the shimmer in Chanel Nouvelle Vague or Jade...or maybe OPI Japanese Rose Garden.

The formula on this is great. The first coat goes on super super sheer, but it builds quickly and I think this is two coats plus touch-ups. I just think this colour is so classy and elegant, yet completely perfect for the season!

What are some of your favourite polishes this spring/summer?

Back in business!

All right so it looks as though we made it through the edits without too many catastrophes! :)

Please let us know what you think of the updated look, whether it's easier to navigate and/or what additional features you might like to see. We'll be tinkering with things in the coming weeks but as this design is for you, our readers, we'd really appreciate some feedback.  The primary goal was to de-clutter our main page (would you believe that a bunch of polish hoarders are all minimalists?!) while still keeping everything of interest within easy access.

Some new features of note:

  • Our "sales" have been integrated into the site via the Sales link above. All of our sales have been tagged as such to make them easier for you to access. Sales in this category will be updated periodically and you now have the opportunity to subscribe specifically to our sales so you can get the latest updates on whatever we've got for sale or swap.

  • We now have a fully functional "contact" page designed to make it easier for you to get in touch with us. Write to the blog generally if you want to sing our praises (haha) or write to a specific contributor if you've got comments or questions about a favourite look - it's up to you!

  • Archives are now easier than ever to access.  Writing a blog with a handful of other academics makes it readily apparent that we all have different ways of organizing our thoughts. Some of us prefer to search a blog by date, some by label and some want to search by name. If you've got a favourite blogger here - not that we're advocating favouritism! ;) - then please make use of our new "Archive by Contributor" feature to find older posts of interest.

  • Facebook Share/Tweet - Our moms always taught us to share. We hope you do too!

In the meantime, if you haven't already, please follow us on Twitter! :)

And Happy Canada Day!
(I'll save the G20 politics for another day.)
